The Senior Data Scientist, Product Analytics role is a technical individual contributor role within a cross-functional team accountable for the delivery of a product roadmap. Working together with the Product Lead, Delivery Managers and other technical specialists from analytics and software engineering disciplines, the Senior Data scientist will support Analytics Leads in the design and specification of analytics that forms part of the core solution offered by Quantium software products.

  • Stakeholder Optimization: Help internal and external stakeholders understand and optimize the use of Quantium products, driving better outcomes.

  • Data Handling: Perform data extraction and manipulation, ensuring accurate and efficient data processing.
  • Product Support & Operations: Deliver tasks supporting product roadmaps and BAU operations, working in cross-functional teams.
  • Scalable Analytics Solutions: Create scalable and repeatable analytics approaches to solve business problems, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Algorithm Development: Design, develop, and test analytics algorithms, including prototyping and writing specifications for implementation.
  • Peer Review & Best Practices: Peer review the work of other analysts and follow best practice guidelines, ensuring high-quality analytics outputs.
  • Customer Liaison & Issue Resolution: Liaise with customers to respond to queries, resolve objections, and communicate updates, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

The superpowers you’ll be bringing to the team:

  • Experience & Educational Background: Over 5 years of experience in a technical analytics environment and tertiary qualifications in relevant fields of engineering, mathematics, actuarial studies, statistics, physics, or a related discipline
  • Technical Analytics Knowledge: Expertise in data preparation, experiment design, feature engineering, foundational analytics concepts, model development, and model training.
  • Coding Proficiency: Proficient in technical tools and coding languages such as Python, SQL
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong systematic problem-solving abilities.
  • Interpersonal & Stakeholder Management: Solid interpersonal skills for cross-functional teamwork and effective client and stakeholder management.
  • Autonomous Work & Continuous Improvement: Ability to work independently following best practices and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Commercial Acumen: Understanding of business needs and the commercial impacts of analytics solutions.
  • Specialization: Specialization in at least one discipline or technique to apply autonomously without the need for material guidance or revision by others.
  • Experimental Design & Hypothesis Testing: Understanding of experimental design and hypothesis testing concepts from a similar discipline.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working with other analysts and specialists from non-analytics disciplines.
