Job Description

Who is Quantium?

Quantium is a world leader in data science and artificial intelligence. Established in Australia in 2002, Quantium is a global team of more than 1,200 people across 14 locations with a unique blend of capabilities across product and consulting services to help businesses unlock value from data and analytics. Quantium partners with the world's largest corporations to forge a better, more intelligent world.

Quantium Health is a joint venture between Discovery Health and Quantium. We specialise in healthcare-focused data science, working across health insurance, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, MedTech and retail pharmacies. Our distinctive approach combines clinical understanding with advanced analytics, and we’re proud to be Anthropic's global enterprise partner for generative AI implementation in healthcare.

Our work transforms the way healthcare organisations operate. We have conducted retrospective real-world studies to compare long-term health outcomes in hypertension, partnered with governments worldwide to optimise their COVID-19 vaccine rollouts, and developed the Vitality AI platform which enables hyperpersonalised, real-time recommendations powered by machine learning.

How will you make an impact?

  • Analytics leadership & delivery: Independently own and deliver high-quality analytics for multiple initiatives within the healthcare vertical, including management of analytics quality
  • Technical execution: Deliver comprehensive analytics processes, from scoping and data quality assessment to method selection, design, application, insights generation and visualisation
  • Client-centric: Develop meaningful solutions based on a deep understanding of clients' objectives through day-to-day external stakeholder management
  • Foster high performance: Share your knowledge, coach and develop team members, including reviewing technical output from junior colleagues
  • Strategic contribution: Support business development activities and thought leadership, transforming client questions into analytical solutions

The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team:

  • Technical proficiency: 5+ years' experience in a technical analytics environment, carrying out data analytics or data science work
  • Advanced analytics knowledge: Strong understanding of data preparation, feature engineering, foundational analytics concepts, model development and model training
  • Strong coding skills: Coding and modelling experience in SQL / Python
  • Academic background: Qualifications in engineering, mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, physics or a related discipline
  • Consultative approach: Experience building trusted relationships with stakeholders and gaining in-depth understanding of their objectives to develop relevant solutions that solve complex problems
  • Agile performer: Your capability to move fast with care through a dynamic environment ensures that you deliver exceptional quality without compromise
  • Healthcare interest: Experience with health datasets such as medical schemes data and/or healthcare experience in pharma, MedTech or hospitals is desirable but not essential

Remember – you might not tick all the boxes, but don't let that stop you from applying. We're more interested in how you work, your ability to solve problems and think big.

What could your Quantium experience look like?

Working at Quantium will allow you to challenge your imagination. You will get to solve complex problems using rigour, precision and by asking great questions – but it also means you can think big, outside the box and push your problem-solving skills to the max.

By joining the Quantium team, you'll get to:

  • Forge your path: Be in the driver's seat of your career, with opportunities to move across different teams or offices
  • Find your kind: Embrace diversity and connect with like-minded colleagues in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Make an impact: Leave your mark by contributing to projects that drive positive change across the health sector

On top of the Quantium experience, you will enjoy a range of great benefits that go beyond the ordinary. Some of these include:

  • Continuous learning: Our vision is empowering our people to thrive. The Analytics Community fosters the development of individuals, thought leadership and technical excellence at Quantium through building strong connections, fostering collaboration and co-creation of best practice
  • Flexible work arrangements: Achieve work-life balance at your own pace with hybrid and flexible work arrangements (3 days onsite, 2 days from home)
  • Remote working: Embrace the opportunity to work outside of your assigned home location for up to 2 months every year
