Our Insurance practice brings together deep actuarial expertise, advanced analytics, and AI capabilities to help insurers navigate complex challenges across pricing, risk, customer analytics, and product strategy. Working with some of Australia's leading personal lines insurers, we deliver sophisticated analytical solutions that drive measurable business outcomes while building capability within client organisations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Consultant to join our Insurance team in Sydney. In this role, you will lead high-impact analytics projects, guide teams through complex technical challenges, and build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders across the personal lines insurance sector.

How will you make an impact?

• Project leadership: Lead insurance analytics projects from design through implementation, managing multiple concurrent initiatives while ensuring analytical rigour and commercial impact across personal lines products
• Technical expertise: Provide expert guidance on advanced methodologies including GLMs, machine learning, segmentation, and predictive modelling, while quality assuring models and outputs developed by team members
• Client advisory: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, leading discovery sessions and workshops to translate business requirements into analytical solutions that address strategic priorities
• Team development: Mentor analysts and consultants to build their analytical capabilities and consulting skills, driving a culture of technical excellence and commercial focus within project teams
• Practice contribution: Contribute to Quantium's insurance analytics intellectual property and methodologies, identifying opportunities to expand client engagements through deep understanding of industry trends and needs

The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team:

• Insurance analytics expertise: 8+ years of experience in insurance analytics with deep expertise in personal lines products such as motor, home, or other personal lines, with a proven track record developing sophisticated analytical solutions that drive business outcomes
• Technical capabilities: Expert knowledge of advanced analytical methodologies including statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and their practical application in insurance, with proficiency in R, Python, or SAS
• Leadership experience: Demonstrated ability leading technical project teams, managing multiple concurrent projects, and providing guidance on complex analytical challenges while mentoring junior team members
• Client engagement: Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to engage and influence senior client stakeholders across various business functions, explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Commercial acumen: Strong commercial awareness with ability to identify and develop business opportunities, understanding how analytical solutions translate into measurable client value

Highly valued: Qualified actuary (FIAA) or working toward actuarial fellowship, specific expertise in insurance pricing methodologies, knowledge of cloud platforms and modern analytics infrastructure, or exposure to multiple personal lines products.
