About the role
Our Retail practice is at the forefront of transforming how major retailers across the globe harness the power of analytics and AI. We're seeking an exceptional Commercial Strategy Director to lead our retail go-to-market and commercial growth function - a pivotal role that sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, business development, and product innovation.
In this role, you'll drive the commercial success of our Retail Product Portfolio, translating complex analytics capabilities into compelling value propositions that resonate with the world's leading retailers. You'll be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive go-to-market strategies, building a robust pipeline of multi-million dollar opportunities, and working closely with product teams to shape our retail analytics offerings for the market.

How will you make an impact?
- Shape the retail analytics agenda: Develop go-to-market strategies that position Quantium's solutions at the forefront of retail transformation, working with product teams to identify market opportunities and craft compelling value propositions that resonate with C-suite executives
- Build and close multi-million dollar opportunities: Lead the end-to-end business development process with major retailers, from identifying and qualifying prospects to crafting winning proposals and negotiating commercial frameworks that deliver value for both clients and Quantium
- Bridge technology and business value: Translate complex analytics capabilities into clear, compelling narratives that help retail leaders understand how data and AI can solve their most pressing challenges, from customer understanding to operational excellence
- Partner with product innovation: Work as a trusted thought partner to product leads, helping shape our retail solutions based on market feedback and competitive intelligence, ensuring what we build is what the market needs
The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team:
- Commercial acumen: Significant experience in business development, strategy, or commercial roles, preferably within retail, data analytics, or related industries, with a proven track record of closing significant deals
- Strategic thinking: Demonstrated success in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for complex products or solutions, with the ability to see the big picture while managing the details
- Exceptional storytelling: Outstanding communication and presentation skills that can translate complex technical concepts into compelling client value propositions that engage senior stakeholders
- Relationship builder: Natural ability to build and nurture strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels, thriving in collaborative environments
- Market insight: Deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising, or marketing functions, with the commercial instincts to identify opportunities before they become obvious
- Results orientation: Self-starter who can work autonomously, drive initiatives forward, and deliver measurable business outcomes in fast-paced, evolving environments with competing priorities
Highly regarded:
- MBA or equivalent qualification
- Management consulting background with client-facing experience
- Experience in product marketing or product management for technical/analytics products
- Previous exposure to retail technology or analytics solutions
