Who is Quantium?

Quantium is a world leader in data science and artificial intelligence. Established in Australia in 2002, Quantium is a global team of more than 1,100 people across 14 locations with a unique blend of capabilities across product and consulting services to help businesses unlock value from data and analytics. Quantium partners with the world's largest corporations to forge a better, more intelligent world.

We combine a team of experts that spans data scientists, actuaries, statisticians, business analysts, strategy consultants, engineers, technologists, programmers, product developers, and futurists — all dedicated to harnessing the power of data to drive transformational outcomes for our clients.

We're looking for a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to join our Consumer team in Sydney. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our growth strategy, driving direct sales of our suite of Quantium solutions to FMCG suppliers - including Q.Checkout, Q.Promotions, Q.Digital Promotions, and consulting projects. This is a high-impact, revenue-generating role where you'll build and manage your own sales pipeline, lead sophisticated sales conversations, and shape how we expand our business with both prospective and existing clients.

You'll work with businesses across the spectrum - from companies just launching in major retailers looking to understand their sales performance, to large, sophisticated organisations with embedded data capabilities. Every sale you close will unlock opportunities ranging from one-off deliverables to ongoing subscriptions that transform how FMCG suppliers leverage data to drive commercial returns.

How will you make an impact?

  • Strategic sales pipeline management: Lead end-to-end management of complex sales pursuits from strategic prospecting through to deal closure, driving new business acquisition through sophisticated prospecting strategies and targeted outreach to decision-makers in FMCG organisations.
  • Revenue generation: Execute complex sales cycles independently, demonstrating strong commercial acumen in structuring deals that deliver value for both clients and Quantium while meeting monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Commercial excellence: Analyse market trends, prospect behaviours, and competitive positioning to identify high-value sales opportunities and contribute to pricing strategies, deal structures, and packaging approaches that maximise win rates.
  • Capability building: Elevate Quantium's sales capability by mentoring Client Leads, sharing best practices in sales strategy, negotiation, and objection handling, while contributing to the development of reusable sales assets and methodologies.

The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team:

  • Sales expertise: 7+ years of direct sales experience in the FMCG industry with demonstrated success independently executing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from prospecting through to close.
  • Commercial acumen: Deep understanding of how FMCG companies leverage data and analytics to shape strategy, with strong commercial and financial skills including sales negotiation, pricing strategies, and deal structuring.
  • Technical expertise: Extensive experience with CRM systems (HubSpot highly desirable) including pipeline management, sales forecasting, opportunity tracking, and performance reporting. Familiarity with Q.Checkout highly desirable.
  • Strategic influencer: Proven ability to sell to and influence senior stakeholders, with exceptional communication, presentation and persuasion skills and the ability to craft compelling sales narratives.
  • Resilient performer: Thrive in fast-paced, dynamic sales environments, managing multiple competing opportunities while maintaining motivation and focus, with the resilience to handle objections and drive outcomes.

Remember — you might not tick all the boxes, but don't let that stop you from applying. We're more interested in how you work, your ability to solve problems and think big.

What could your Quantium Experience look like?

Working at Quantium will allow you to challenge your imagination. You will get to solve complex problems using rigour, precision and by asking great questions — but it also means you can think big, outside the box and push your problem-solving skills to the max.

By joining the Quantium team, you'll get to:

  • Forge your path: So many of our team have moved around different teams or offices. You'll be in the driver's seat, and we empower you to make your career your own.
  • Find your kind: Embrace diversity and connect with your tribe (think foodies, dog lovers, readers, or runners).
  • Make an impact: Leave your mark. Your contributions resonate, regardless of your role or rank.

On top of the Quantium Experience, you will enjoy a range of great benefits that go beyond the ordinary. Some of these include:

  • Flexible work arrangements: Achieve work life balance at your own pace with hybrid and flexible work arrangements.
  • Remote working: Embrace the opportunity to work outside of your assigned home location for up to 2 months every year.
