Role summary
As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer at Quantium, you will design, implement, and maintain our cloud network infrastructure with a focus on security, scalability, and automation. This role requires deep networking expertise combined with modern software development practices to build robust network architectures across multiple cloud providers.
You will work closely with platform engineers, security teams, and product owners to ensure our network infrastructure meets both technical requirements and business needs. The role emphasizes strong network engineering fundamentals while leveraging infrastructure as code, automation, and cloud-native tools to achieve scale and consistency.
How will you make an impact?
- Lead the design and evolution of cloud network architecture strategies across multiple providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Develop and maintain organisational network policies, standards, and governance frameworks
- Drive the adoption of network security best practices and compliance requirements across the organisation
- Establish architectural patterns and reference designs for cloud networking
- Establish and maintain network change management processes
- Define network monitoring and alerting policies
- Oversee the implementation of secure connectivity solutions across cloud environments
- Guide the development of infrastructure as code practices for network deployments
- Provide technical direction for network automation and observability initiatives
- Lead incident response strategies for network-related issues
- Build and maintain relationships with key technology vendors and partners
- Act as a technical advisor to internal teams and external clients on network architecture
- Mentor team members on network engineering best practices and cloud technologies
- Contribute to project planning and resource allocation for network initiatives
- Lead technical discovery workshops with clients and stakeholders
The superpowers you will bring to the team:
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering with at least 3 years focused on cloud technologies
- Deep understanding of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, and network security
- Strong experience with cloud networking constructs (VPCs, vNETs, Transit Gateways, Cloud Interconnect)
- Extensive experience with layer 4-7 technologies including load balancers, firewalls, and WAFs
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi)
- Strong understanding of DNS architectures
- Solid programming skills in at least one language (Python, Bash, Ruby) for automation
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure deployment
- Professional network certifications (CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent)
- Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) preferred
