Role summary
The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for leading the development and deployment of advanced analytics solutions that deliver significant value to our clients and partners. As a technical expert, you will be tasked with solving complex business problems through innovative data science approaches, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions, communicating complex findings in a clear and compelling manner to diverse stakeholders. The role requires both technical excellence and strong business acumen to ensure our data science initiatives align with client objectives and drive measurable outcomes.
As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior data scientists, contribute to methodology improvements, and help shape our analytics capabilities to maintain Quantium's position as an industry leader in data-driven insights.

- Design and implement advanced analytical solutions to address complex business problems for our clients and partners
- Lead the development of statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data processing pipelines to extract actionable insights from diverse datasets
- Translate business requirements into analytical methodologies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Quantium's technical standards
- Present technical findings to clients and stakeholders in clear, accessible formats that emphasize business value and actionable recommendations
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to building analytics capabilities across the organisation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate analytical solutions into client systems and processes
- Evaluate and implement new data science techniques, tools, and approaches to continuously enhance our analytical capabilities
- Ensure all work adheres to Quantium's high standards for quality, ethics, and data governance
- Contribute to thought leadership, methodology development, and innovation initiatives
The superpowers you will bring to the team:
- Advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field (Master's degree preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related field, with a demonstrated track record of delivering impactful solutions to complex business problems
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning
- Expertise in statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and analytical techniques with the ability to select appropriate methodologies for specific business problems
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Excellent data visualisation skills using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused insights
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams on end-to-end analytics projects
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
- Industry experience in one or more of Quantium's key sectors (retail, financial services, healthcare, etc.) is highly desirable
